It’s been a very long time since I have been able to make social plans and follow them through!
In fact, reflecting over a lovely plate of scrambled eggs this morning, hubby and I figured I haven’t actually had a social life since July!!!
Prior to being admitted to hospital and having the operation, this was due to feeling so poorly all the time, and following being discharged it has been because planning anything vaguely social has been a total flop! Every time I put something in the diary, you could pretty much guarantee that the next morning I would receive a letter or a call from the hospital with an appointment for that day. My poor friends must have thought I’d fallen off the face of the earth.
That said, I am an incredibly lucky girl, because no matter how many rain checks they’ve had from me, no matter how many last minute cancellations down to the early days and the sheer terror that I felt about doing anything at all that wasn’t in my home or in the hospital, they have stood by me.
And this week I am doing some serious catching up!
I’m so over excited for supper dates, hot chocolates, and after work catch ups. I feel like I’ve missed so much of what has been going on in everyone’s lives, and I’m ready to be back in the loop.
Social life: I’m ready for you!
